Compare the living arrangement before the label

When a family asks for a boarding school, LEP first explores what the student needs after lessons. Some value a regular group routine; others may prefer household life.

Our work spans Luxembourg day-school and host-family arrangements as well as Swiss and Dutch boarding options. This allows a comparison of learning and living before the family commits to one format.

Luxembourg: school and daily care together

ISL, St George’s and OTR offer different educational environments. Day-school admission also requires a plan for accommodation, travel and everyday communication.

Based locally, LEP can discuss school applications, host-family matching and agreed coordination around the same child. Household routines, meals, study space and communication belong in that discussion. Read our Luxembourg guide for parents remaining abroad.

Switzerland and the Netherlands: course and campus life

For residential schooling, LEP can compare routes through Chantemerle, Saint-Charles and Eerde. The point is not a universal ranking but a match between entry stage, course, routine and budget.

Our visits give concrete context: Chantemerle’s welcoming smaller environment, Saint-Charles’s campus and accommodation, and Eerde’s learning and residential setting. Explore our fieldwork records before discussing the student-specific questions with us.

Follow the same child through a week

How do mornings, activities, homework, weekends and requests for help work in each option? LEP relates these arrangements to the family’s main concerns and takes the relevant questions to the school or proposed accommodation.

Phone habits or difficulties joining peers therefore become practical selection questions, rather than a separate list of general parenting tips.

Include the parents’ real circumstances

Work, siblings, visits and holidays shape what a family can sustain. Accommodation availability during school closures needs explicit planning in either route. LEP connects that calendar with the costs and school arrangement.

Send age, current curriculum, English, entry date, parental plans, annual budget and the student’s preference for group or household life. We can discuss suitable combinations and continue school communication, applications and accommodation coordination. LEP family services.
