The family question is often larger than a camp booking

Some families are considering Swiss boarding but the child has rarely stayed away. Others need to understand language or group-living needs before deciding.

LEP begins with the purpose of the experience. Age, language, intended school stage and interests shape which programme is worth discussing with the school.

Start with schools we have visited

Chantemerle’s smaller, welcoming setting made a distinct impression on my visit. Its published camp combines languages with sports, outdoor and creative activities. LEP can explore the relevant session alongside the family’s longer-term course interests. See our Chantemerle guide.

Saint-Charles publishes a language-and-activities camp with a separate riding option. Our school visit provides context for families exploring the campus or an existing riding interest. See our Saint-Charles record.

LEP follows up on the intended year’s age range, dates, residence, activities, costs and arrival arrangements before progressing preparation.

Turn concerns into useful school questions

Independence can mean following routines or asking for help. Language concerns may involve understanding tasks or participating. Social worries need discussion about joining regular activities.

These distinctions influence programme selection and the feedback families seek. Staff can respond more usefully when they understand what the family hopes to learn from the stay.

Connect the experience with admission

LEP can discuss feedback provided by the family and programme, identify the environment the child enjoyed and clarify remaining support needs. Regular-term course, year-group and accommodation questions then lead into a visit or entry assessment where appropriate.

A short experience and a sustained school term answer different parts of the decision. Our role is to help interpret what the stay has revealed and what the application still needs to establish.

Decide whether this step serves the timeline

A trial is worth discussing when it resolves an open question in a real school plan. If an entry deadline is close, course progression and application timing come first.

Send LEP age, English, preferred dates, longer-term boarding interest and the main uncertainty. We can connect programme enquiries, visits and the next application discussion. Contact LEP.
